Benefits of Membership

Our historic houses are all very different. They range from simple country houses and manor houses to large stately homes. We each have our own special problems but we all share the heavy responsibility of maintaining an important part of Ireland's built heritage. This makes it vitally important that we are properly represented.

In today's economic climate the HHI needs to ensure that private owners' thoughts and concerns are known and understood by everyone whose decisions have the potential to affect us or our houses.

Criteria for Membership

HHI Membership is open to all owners of country houses in the Republic of Ireland, irrespective of their size, date or importance, provided they are listed as Protected Structures in the County Development Plans for their respective counties and remain in private ownership and occupation.

Owners of houses in towns and cities may also apply, provided they meet the above criteria and stand in their own grounds.
