Thomas Pakenham will guide a walk through his private tree collection in his Arboretum and through his favourite Magnolias.
Thomas, owner of Tullynally Castle, and eminent historian and tree fanatic ( writer of Meetings with Remarkable Trees among other tree books) hopes to show off his Magnolia collection on April 19th. Occasionally he is thwarted by a late frost, causing some early losses to his favourites and so the walk takes on a spring theme, there is always much to see and many a tale from Thomas of his plant hunting excursions in Chile, the Himalayas and China.
